Stretch

Ever notice how awake you feel after a good stretch? This simple practice of lengthening your muscles can help to increase blood flow to your muscles, invigorating your body. Stretching also contributes to stress relief, allowing you to focus your intention on your body. Before you begin your next sesh, think about doing some light Yoga, and release built-up tension.

Take A Hike

Another great way to gain clarity before consuming cannabis is to get out of your surroundings and enjoy a hike in nature. The Japanese call these slow and pleasant walks Forest Bathing, which is shown to help relieve tension and connect with the earth. Take a digital detox and surround yourself in a park or forest to help bring your attention from your mind to your body.

Creating a clean space can also lend itself well to a relaxing experience if you want to stay at home. Take a page out of professional organizer Marie Kondo’s book and concentrate on tidying up to spark joy in your home. The feeling of accomplishment will be a great reward if you choose to consume cannabis. Carving out a cozy nook in your home to start a short and simple meditation can also help you to maximize your experience.

You may notice that when you consume cannabis that you get the giggles or that conversation flows more freely. It’s the setting of being with people who support you and allow you to enter a stream of consciousness. It’s possible to enjoy your experience further amongst smaller groups, so not to cloud your thoughts or become overwhelmed. When the stress of focusing on your destination is gone, you can live in the present.

Eat well

Eat the good stuff. Avoid over-doing the “unhealthy” munchies by filling up on nutritious food that satiates your hunger so that you can focus on living in the moment.
